goofy!

can’t get over just how dorky all the photos at Woolstore turned out. guess that explains why our photog was only able to pick out a couple that were flattering. in most of the shots, i’m facing away from the camera, wearing a silly grin on my face or sporting one of those “tongue sticking out/ furrowed eyebrow” kinda look.

it’s not easy skating in a georgette silk dress and wearing the flimsiest, pair of diamanté strapped Chloés. darn diamanté keeps snagging onto the dress. raaawr! wish i bought my sneakers to the shoot: one of the few things i forgot to pack for “post-ceremony” shenanigans. uuurggggh! the “soulmate” assured me ‘there’ll be another time’. i doubt it. then again, why should a bunch of photos show or prove anything. i have, am and always will be married to my board (the true love of my life). so that’s all that matters.

felted ball wreath

Monday, January 16th, 2012

another craft project i did over Xmas was a wreath made out of fluoro felted balls. there’s a kick ass tutorial on how to make felted balls here. it’s fuss-free if you only need a handful, but painstaking when you need lots for a wreath like this. i happened to have some “store bought” ones lying around and thought, “why not?” i love all the unique varieties of wreaths that are cropping up every where……

there are ones made of candy, plastic bags, buttons, star anise, marshmallows. the possibilities seem endless! amazing isn’t it? in other news, i’ve been feeling down lately with all the weight gain post-wedding, x’mas, new year and soon, chinese new year. my husband is half-chinese. i guess i’m roped into this madness by matrimonial “default”. great. another event i need to “celebrate” *rolls eyes*

Frittsrose “no more”

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

i haven’t blogged much about the wedding, lots of details are starting to fade. i know its sudden, but i’d like to start chronicling specific incidents. preparations were fairly drama-free with one exception: i purchased a couple of boutonnieres on etsy from a vendor called ‘Frittsrose Now’. the boys whinged about how heavy their bouts were. i like what we already had, but i’ll admit the ones pictured below are kinda cool. so i went ahead and placed an order.

my heart broke because the boutonnieres i ordered never arrived. i sent the vendor numerous messages enquiring the status of my purchase. not a single reply. couldn’t get a refund from paypal either. those needed to be done within 45 days of purchase. so i submitted a non-delivery report and felt awful etsy eventually shut her store down. i’ve had to remind myself, this is fraud!

i have yet to submit a report to FBI’s Internet Crime Complaints Centre and contact my credit card company to arrange for some kind of refund. it’s really not about the money, but rather a matter of principle. i’m so relieved i hadn’t completely depended on this vendor for my bouts. otherwise, i’d be stressing over something so stupid and insignificant! hard to imagine them type ‘a’ brides to have to deal with such vendors. i do empathize because small details can ruin a “big day”.

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

its been years since i’ve done one of these! back when i was blogging on Xanga, i’d say a meme tag happens at least once a week. *excites!* none of my friends blog anymore. so i’ve started lurking online like a perve and instantly fell in love with a purveyor of good taste & craft extraordinaire, the gorgeous lady Zhing. its quite an honor she tagged meeeeee! mememe! yaaay! so here goes…….

:: the tagged rules are as follows:

1. post these rules.
2. you must post 11 random things yourself.
3. answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post.
4. create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
5. go to their blog and tell them that you’ve tagged them.
6. no stuff in the tagging section about ‘you are tagged if you are reading this.’

the “12″ checklist

Monday, January 9th, 2012

aaawwhh maan, another late entry. but you know what they say, better late than never! for ‘make something Monday’ this week, i “made up” a checklist of things i’d like (and need) to accomplish in 2012. i’m not big on resolutions *hi-5!* but reckon its good to set some goals though. so here is my list:

everyone keeps telling me moving to London is such a bad idea at the moment thanks to Europe’s poor economic climate. yessss! i am fully i can get a better job (and earn) much, much more in Australia, but i figured i’ll grab life by the balls and just do this! at least i could hold my head up high and say, “hey! i tried. what ballsy leap of faith is on YOUR list for 2012?
